Regular Cleanings and Oral Exams - Every patient (even denture patients) needs to be seen at least once every six months, and some patients should visit us four times a year. Studies show that calculus [tartar] begins to accumulate on tooth surfaces between 90 and 120 days after professional cleaning.
Periodontal disease is silent, serious, and directly linked to heart disease. In fact, it's not uncommon for the warning signs to go unnoticed until there's significant damage to the gums and to the underlying structures as well. Our hygienists measure and track changes in gum tissue over time. If a problem area is detected, they are fully equipped to get you back to a healthy condition.
Whitening Your Smile - Because it is our goal for our patients to have healthy teeth and gums for a lifetime, Bellevue Family Dentistry offers the Radiant Smile Whitening Program to all our patients that complete their necessary dental care and keep their recommended preventative care visits current. With your membership, we will provide you with upper and lower custom whitening trays to start, and two tubes of whitening gel at each hygiene visit. Don’t forget to visit us at least every six months for your cleanings to remain eligible.
Your long-term dental health is as important to us as it is to you. Preventative appointments assist you in maintaining good home care, reducing emergencies and allowing for early diagnosis and treatment of dental issues. We are happy to provide this extra bonus for our patients who are committed to their oral health.
Digital X-Rays - Digital x-ray images or dental radiographs are one of the most valuable tools a dentist has for keeping your mouth and teeth healthy. At Bellevue Family Dentistry, we are equipped with digital radiographs, which significantly decrease the amount of radiation compared to conventional x-rays.
White Composite Fillings - A white filling or composite filling is a non-metallic material used to restore a tooth. This type of filling is beneficial in that the restored tooth has a more natural appearance. Restoring back teeth and replacing aging silver fillings with white composite material is very popular with patients!
Crowns - Teeth are often restored using resin or silver fillings. However, when too much of a tooth's structure is removed to support a filling, a crown or "cap" may be needed. A crown may be needed to:
• Restore a tooth when it is unable to support a large filling
• Protect a weak tooth from fracturing or restore fractured teeth
• Cover badly shaped or discolored teeth
• Cover dental implants
A crown essentially covers a tooth to restore it to its natural shape and size. This permanent covering fits over your original tooth to strengthen or improve the appearance of the tooth.
Implants - When you lose a tooth, a dental implant may be needed to replace the tooth root and crown. Dental implants are simply "anchors" that permanently support replacement teeth. They are secure and durable and can be cleaned and cared for like your natural teeth.
Porcelain Veneers - Do you have discolored or crooked teeth, teeth with spaces between them or teeth stained by fillings? You can change the shape, color and length of your teeth using veneers. Veneers are thin, durable shells designed to cover the front of the tooth. They are typically made of porcelain and are extremely durable, stain resistant, natural-looking and easy to maintain.
Veneers are custom-fitted to your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel and bonding the veneer to your teeth. You can expect veneers to stay bright and strong for many years by performing good oral hygiene.
Root Canal Therapy - Root canal treatment (also referred to as endodontic therapy) is a simple dental procedure with little or no discomfort where the nerve to the tooth is removed from the internal aspect of the tooth. The remaining nerve chamber and canals are then sterilized and sealed.
Following root canal treatment it is prudent to place a crown on the tooth to restore its strength and protect its longevity. The only alternative treatment when a nerve is irreversibly damaged is to extract.
The Wand Anesthesia - Our dental anesthesia system combines state-of-the-art computer controlled injection technology with the dentist’s training to achieve more precise injections, improved drug delivery and greatly enhanced patient comfort levels. Patients who receive anesthesia via The Wand state it is virtually painless!
Nitrous Oxide - Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, is one of the safest anti-anxiety agents available in the dental office. It can produce relaxation and a mild sedated state for anxious dental patients. Nitrous oxide is non-allergenic, and its effects are completely reversible within a couple of minutes. This ease of reversal allows you to drive home safely or go to work immediately after your dental visit. Nitrous oxide can be used for all dental procedures and is available for your hygiene visits as well.
