Glenna Hoff is Education/Program Director at Campus Martius and the Ohio River Museum, employed by the Friends of the Museums. Campus Martius and the Ohio River Museum are operated by a joint partnership of the Ohio Historical Society and Friends of the Museums, Inc, each a nonprofit organization. OHS serves as the state’s partner in preserving and interpreting Ohio’s history, archaeology and natural history. Friends of the Museums manages the daily operations of the museums.

Who operates Campus Martius and the Ohio River Museums?
The Friends of the Museums, Inc. consists of a management board of volunteers whose focus is to oversee the long term management of the museums. The daily operations of the museums is lead by a Site Director who oversees three full time employees, one part time employee, and several seasonal employees who work at the counters.
What is the mission of the Friends?
The mission of the Friends of the Museums, Inc. is to promote and preserve the history of our region, the Northwest Territory and of our inland waterways.
Can anyone join the Friends of the Museums?
Yes. Membership forms are available at the museum, by calling and requesting one or you can join on line. There are many benefits that the nominal membership fee provides, including free admission to both museums for one year.
If I want to bring a group of children to the museums, are there programs?
Yes. We provide a wide variety of hands-on activities for schools, scouts, 4-H, home school organizations, and other youth groups. Contact Glenna Hoff, 740-373-3750, for details.

What kind of volunteer positions are there?
What if someone wants to volunteer but doesn’t feel comfortable giving tours? There are many opportunities for volunteering to choose from: Putnam House and/or W.P. Snyder, Jr. guided tours, group programs, and volunteering behind the scenes. We work with our volunteers by providing information to help them do their jobs well. Seasoned volunteers help with training also.
